Officers with a Southern Nevada cannabis enforcement squad arrested a Henderson man in connection with a marijuana grow house on Thursday.

Thomas Asgeirsson, 46, was arrested and booked into the Clark County Detention Center on multiple drug-related charges.

A Metro SWAT team carried out a narcotics search warrant at a residence in the 300 block of Pinnacle Court in Henderson about 6 p.m.

Detectives with the SCORE Team seized 54 marijuana plants, over five pounds of marijuana, marijuana hash and 0.2 grams of methamphetamine.

SCORE stands for Southern Nevada Cannabis Operation and Regional Enforcement and is made up of representatives from the Las Vegas police, Henderson police and the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Police found the plants in various stages of growth within the master suite of the house along with other growing paraphernalia, such as chemicals, lamps and carbon dioxide tanks.

Asgeirsson reportedly told police he has been growing marijuana for a couple years and using it every day for about 30 years. He taught himself how to grow by reading books and uses cannabis to treat knee injuries, he said.

He does have a valid medical marijuana card, but Nevada law allows a maximum of 12 marijuana plants.
